1. Metal smelting
Smelting process: During the steelmaking process, high-purity oxygen is blown in to react with elements such as carbon, phosphorus, sulfur, and silicon, which not only reduces the carbon content in the steel, but also helps to remove impurities such as phosphorus, sulfur, and silicon. The heat generated by this oxidation process is sufficient to maintain the temperature required for steelmaking, thereby shortening the smelting time and improving the quality of the steel.
Non-ferrous metal smelting: In the smelting process of non-ferrous metals such as zinc, nickel, and lead, the supply of enriched oxygen can shorten the smelting time and increase the output.
2. Chemical industry
Synthetic ammonia production: Oxygen is mainly used for the oxidation of raw gas in the production of synthetic ammonia, which strengthens the process and increases the output of fertilizers.
Natural gas reforming: A large amount of oxygen is consumed in the production of methanol, ethylene and propylene oxides by natural gas reforming, as well as in the desulfurization and recovery process.
3. Energy industry
Coal pressurized gasification: Sufficient oxygen must be supplied during the coal pressurized gasification process to maintain the temperature of the oxide layer in the furnace. The oxygen purity required here is not less than 95%, and the oxygen consumption per kilogram of coal varies depending on the type and quality of coal.
IV. Mechanical industry
Metal cutting and welding: Oxygen is used as a combustion aid in combination with combustible gases such as acetylene and propane, which is the main method to achieve metal cutting and welding.
V. Defense industry
Rocket combustion aid: Liquid oxygen is often used as a rocket combustion aid because it can provide huge energy when mixed with fuel.
VI. Other industrial applications
Pulp bleaching and papermaking: Using oxygen-enriched bleaching instead of traditional chlorine bleaching improves bleaching efficiency and reduces environmental pollution.
Ore processing: The use of oxygen generators in the gold mine production process can increase the extraction rate of precious metals.
Fermentation use: In the fermentation process, oxygen-enriched oxygen replaces air as the oxygen source for aerobic fermentation, which can significantly improve the fermentation efficiency.
